Dear Colleagues,
A reminder to kindly complete your cost study particulars to support the establishment of an independent benchmark tariff—free from NAMAF’s influence. Your participation is crucial in ensuring fair, transparent, and practitioner-driven tariff setting.
We also extend our sincere thanks to those who have already submitted their cost information and made financial contributions. Your support is invaluable in driving this initiative forward.
For those who pledged to support the study, we kindly encourage you to finalize your contributions at your earliest convenience. Every effort brings us closer to a sustainable and equitable pricing model that reflects the true cost of healthcare services in Namibia.
The importance of this initiative is underscored by the attached document from Dr. Sophia van Rooyen, presenting her findings on the current NAMIBIAN Benchmark Tariff.
We are actively engaging at Ministerial level, with the NAMAF Management Committee, NAMAF itself, and individual Funds regarding NAMAF’s overreach on the fee issue and the implementation of ICD-10 as a requirement for reimbursement.
We are also in contact with the Minister and Joint Presidents Committee of the HPCNA on the various issues surrounding the HPCNA including the foreign practitioner as well as training institution fees and to get clarity on the legality of Section 53 (4) of the new Health Professions Act of 2024.
We will keep you informed of all developments.
Thank you for your commitment to this cause!
Kind regards
Dr Jürgen Hoffmann
